Cross arms are how a sports pole becomes a lighting bank. These angle iron cross arms mount on round tapered metal poles and support up to five sportslighters each, arriving pre-drilled so field assembly is bolt-up work rather than fabrication. They are the standard arm under our field and arena packages on steel poles.

About Our Angle Iron Cross Arms (Steel Poles)

Each Angle Iron Cross Arm supports up to five sportslighters and come pre-drilled for convenience. These arms mount on round tapered metal poles to hold fixtures in horse arenas and other sports fields. *Please consult with LED Spot for lead time estimates.

What the Cross Arm Actually Does

Field lighting concentrates several fixtures at the same mounting height, aimed at different zones. The cross arm spaces those heads apart so each can be aimed independently, and it transfers their combined weight and wind load into the pole as one connection.
Pre-drilled arms mean the fixture spacing is already correct for the heads they carry, and the pole-side fit matches round tapered steel sections.

Sizing the Bank to the Pole

Five heads on an arm is a real load in wind. The arm is only half of that equation: the pole beneath it has to be rated for the bank’s combined effective projected area at the local design wind speed. An arm on an undersized pole is how poles come down.
Order arms as part of a modeled package and that check is already done. Order them standalone and we will still gladly verify your pole rating if you send its details.

Steel Pole or Wood Pole Arms

This arm fits round tapered metal poles. Wood pole installations use our companion arm built for that mounting, with the same five-head capacity. The two are not interchangeable because the pole attachment differs completely.
If you are unsure what your existing poles are, a photo and a tape measure at the base is enough for us to identify the right arm.

Yes. Our baseball, arena and field packages pair arms, fixtures and poles as one matched system.
