Path lights are the foundation of most residential landscape systems. Set along a walkway, driveway or garden path, they cast light down onto the ground so people can see where they are walking, and they give the yard a welcoming line of light from the street to the front door.

Spacing and Height
Space path lights about 6 to 10 feet apart, depending on the fixture’s spread, and consider staggering them on alternating sides of the path rather than lining them up like a runway. Most path lights stand 18 to 24 inches tall, which keeps the light low and the glare out of eyes.
Materials That Last
Solid brass and copper fixtures develop a natural patina and hold up for many years outdoors. Powder coated aluminum is lighter and comes in more colors. For commercial walkways and larger fixtures, see our path lighting range.
Wired low voltage path lights attach to the main cable with simple connectors and a stake, so installation takes minutes per fixture. They give steadier illumination along the pathway than solar lights, and a photocell keeps them on from dusk to dawn.
