The PAR20 is 2.5 inches across and runs on standard 120 volt power through a medium E26 screw base, which makes it the easy choice for small recessed cans, track heads and mini pendants that need a focused beam without a transformer. LED PAR20 lamps replace the hot halogen versions that used to fill these fixtures and give you more light for far fewer watts.

Choosing the Right PAR20
Start with the beam. A narrow spot works for highlighting a painting or a bookshelf, while a flood spreads light over a counter or a dining table. Then choose the color temperature to match the rest of the room, typically 2700K or 3000K in a home.
If the fixture is on a dimmer, choose a lamp marked dimmable and confirm the dimmer is LED compatible.
Where PAR20 Lamps Fit
PAR20 lamps are common in 4 inch recessed cans, compact track heads, under eave accent fixtures and small outdoor floods. They are a step up in output from an MR16 without the need for a low voltage transformer.
Most LED PAR20 lamps draw 6 to 8 watts, replace a 50 watt halogen, and deliver about 450 to 550 lumens. A CRI of 90 or higher keeps colors natural, and a rated lifespan of around 25,000 hours means years between changes in hard to reach track heads.
