Path lights and small fixtures that use bi-pin G4 lamps sit right in the irrigation zone, where an unsealed LED can fail early. The CLS LL4S2 is a 2W G4 LED fully encapsulated in silicone, rated as a 20W halogen equivalent and built to run on 9 to 17V.
Will a 2W G4 LED replace a 20W halogen?
CLS rates it as a 20W halogen equivalent. The 360 degree beam spreads light in every direction, like the capsule lamp it replaces, so it works under path light hats and diffusers without hot spots. Power draw is 1.5VA, which frees transformer capacity compared with the halogen.
Can it be dimmed?
It is dimmable with most magnetic (MLV) transformers and with DC voltage dimming.
2700K or 3000K for my fixtures?
Both are offered. 2700K reads warmer and suits plantings and brick, while 3000K is slightly crisper. CRI is 83 or higher at either setting. Rated L70 lumen maintenance is 50,000 hours, and the operating range runs from -13°F to 104°F.
