CLS LLW1 Silicone Encapsulated Wedge LED Bulb 1W

Small step lights and compact path fixtures often only need a soft glow, and an old T10 halogen wedge in those housings burns far more power than the job calls for. The CLS LLW1 is a 1 watt wedge LED in a silicone potted capsule that fits the same 161 style socket. It produces about 100 lumens at 2700K, a gentle level for stair treads, low walls and deck edges.

Will it fit the wedge socket I already have?

The LLW1 uses a T10 wedge base, listed as type 161, with base dimensions of 2.1 by 9.5 millimeters. If the fixture takes a T10 halogen wedge today, this is the matching LED format. Check the clearance inside very shallow housings, since the capsule shape is not identical to a glass halogen.

Why seal a wedge lamp in silicone?

Small fixtures close to the ground collect condensation. The LLW1 encloses its chip-on-board LED in silicone over a ceramic base, rated IP54, which keeps moisture and corrosion away from the electronics. The COB source spreads light a full 360 degrees, so the lens glows evenly without bright points.

How much load does it add to the transformer?

About 1.2 VA per lamp. That makes the LLW1 a practical pick when you need to add step lights to a run that is already close to capacity. It runs on 9 to 17 volts AC and dims with most magnetic transformers.
