Path lights and small fixtures built around a G4 bi-pin socket usually need an even, all-around glow rather than a beam. The CLS LL4B2 provides 200 lumens on 2 watts, and CLS lists it as the replacement for a 20 watt halogen G4.
Why a brass body on a bi-pin lamp?
The LL4B series uses a solid brass housing with a clear polycarbonate cover, and the internal circuitry is potted in resin to keep out moisture, dust and insects. CLS lists it as water resistant, which suits the conditions inside an outdoor path light.
2 watts or 3 watts for a path?
For walkways, garden borders and fixtures set close together, 200 lumens gives a soft pool of light. The 3 watt LL4B3 raises output to 300 lumens for fixtures spaced farther apart or for a brighter look, and a 4 watt version completes the LL4B family. Mixing wattages along one path can make the spacing look uneven, so pick one output per run where possible.
What do you choose when ordering?
Color temperature, 2700K or 3000K. The 360 degree spread is the same on every LL4B lamp, and input is 9 to 17 volts AC with dimming on most MLV transformers or by DC voltage.
