Miniature spotlights, small path heads and tight specialty fixtures often use the MR8 size, which is smaller than a standard MR16. The CLS LL8 is a 2.5 watt MR8 LED in a die-cast aluminum body, rated at 160 lumens and listed as a replacement for a 20 watt halogen.
Will an MR8 lamp fit where an MR16 does?
No. MR8 is a smaller footprint, so the LL8 is for fixtures designed around that size. If your fixture currently holds an MR8 halogen, this lamp is the matching LED replacement.
38, 60 or 120 degrees for a small accent fixture?
The 38 degree beam keeps light on a single plant, sign or architectural detail. The 60 degree beam spreads wider for low shrubs or a short wall section. A 120 degree beam is also offered. The beam and the color temperature, 2700K or 3000K, are chosen when ordering.
How much load does each lamp add?
Each LL8 draws 3.5 VA. When you size the transformer, total the VA of every lamp on the circuit rather than the wattage alone, and leave headroom. The lamp operates on 9 to 17 volts and dims on most magnetic transformers or by DC voltage. The aluminum housing is IP54 rated.
