Where Garland Does Its Work
Doorways, handrails, balconies, columns and window frames: garland follows lines the building already has, so it is the quickest way to make a property look decorated from end to end. Garland over doorways and entries should be ordered along with the tree and wreaths so it all arrives together.
To work out how much you need, measure each run it will follow and add extra for any swags. A 25 ft Grand Teton garland covers a long railing in one piece, while 9 ft lengths suit doorways and mantels.
Lit or Unlit Garland
Pre-lit garland comes with LEDs already on the branches. The 9 ft Oregon Fir garland, for example, comes pre-lit with 200 warm white or multi-color LEDs, and the 9 ft Douglas Fir with 50 warm white lights. LED draws about 10 percent of the wattage of incandescent, so long runs stay light on the circuit.
Unlit garland lets you add your own lights, ribbon and picks. Match the light color to the rest of the display, for example warm white on garland, wreaths and tree, so the property reads as one design.
Coordinating With Trees and Wreaths
Garland comes in the same needle styles as our trees and wreaths. Pair Grand Teton garland with Grand Teton Christmas trees and Grand Teton wreaths, or Oregon Fir garland with Oregon Fir wreaths.
