Full cutoff wall packs aim everything downward, keeping light off neighboring property and out of the night sky, and they are what dark sky ordinances expect. Standard packs throw further out from the building, covering more ground per fixture where spill is not a constraint.

Wall packs light in pools, and the spacing between fixtures decides whether the pools connect or leave dark gaps a person can stand in. Mounting height sets each fixture’s reach, and the fixture’s distribution sets its width.
