Half Court or Full Court: What Changes?

A half court concentrates play around one basket, so a compact pole layout along the sides covers it well. Full courts add length and a second goal, which usually means more poles and taller mounting so the center court does not sag into a dim zone between fixtures.
The free throw line and the arc are where players look up. Aiming the layout so no fixture sits behind the backboard in a shooter’s line of sight is most of what separates a court that plays well at night from one that does not.

Poles, Mounting Height and Wind

Residential and park courts typically run shorter poles than field sports, which keeps cost down but makes aiming less forgiving. Every pole in our systems is matched to the fixture’s effective projected area and your local wind loading, because an undersized pole is the most common failure in cheap court lighting.
Concrete work is the expensive, permanent part of the job. A photometric layout in advance means the anchor bolts go in the right place the first time.

Neighborhood courts live or die on spill control. Full cutoff optics keep the light on the slab and out of bedroom windows, and a well aimed system often reads darker from the street than a single bad floodlight while putting more light on the court.
