Straight square steel light poles are the workhorse of parking lot and area lighting. The flat faces take single, double, triple or quad fixture drillings cleanly, and the constant cross section keeps mounting hardware simple. This group runs from 10 to 40 feet in 3 inch and larger shafts. Every pole is anchor base and comes with the base template so the foundation can be poured before the pole arrives. If the pole will live near the coast or anywhere corrosion is a concern, order the same pole hot dip galvanized from the galvanized group below.

Steel’s impact strength is why square steel stays the default in busy lots where vehicles pass close to the poles. Each added head raises the wind load, though. On LED Spot’s fixture EPA chart, a Lifestyle Small fixture is 1.6 on a single arm and 4.1 in a quad 90 layout, and a Lifestyle Medium quad reaches 4.9. Run your layout through the pole selection guide so the pole’s EPA rating at your wind speed covers the full fixture package.

For drill mounting, tell us the fixture position relative to the hand hole, which is position A. The pole ordering guidelines list the rest: height, shaft size, 11 or 7 gauge wall, and bronze, black or white finish.
