Use the steps below to put together a complete light pole order. Each step maps to a line on the quote, so having these answers ready speeds up pricing and keeps the pole matched to the fixtures you plan to mount.
Determine the type of pole shaft and specify the pole height in feet. Custom heights are available, call LED Spot at (281) 972-5006 for details. Most parking lot poles fall between 12 and 30 feet, and taller poles spread light over a wider area. - Select your shaft Size and Gauge (wall thickness)
Shaft sizes come in 4″ and 5″ diameter.
Wall gauges are 11 (1/8″) and 7 (3/16″). The heavier 7 gauge wall gives a pole of the same height more strength, which is the usual move for taller poles and multi-head fixture layouts. - Confirm the wind rating: Add the fixture and bracket EPA from the chart in our pole selection guide (for example, a Lifestyle Medium fixture on a double 180 bracket is 3.1) and make sure the pole’s EPA rating at your site’s wind speed is equal to or greater than that number. Changing the fixture, bracket or accessories changes the EPA, so recheck after any substitution.
- Drilling/Tenons for fixture mounting:
Standard 2 3/8″ Tenon (custom tenon sizes available).
For drill mounting, specify fixture mounting position. (‘A’ is the hand hole position.)
- Specify Finish: Bronze, Black, and White are standard. Galvanized and Custom finishes are available as options and are quoted separately.
- General Information: Anchor base poles come complete with base cover, pole cap, hand hole and cover, grounding nut, template, and anchor bolts.
- A factory-fitted duplex receptacle is available as an option. Specify its mounting position relative to the hand hole (‘A’ is the hand hole position).
- Galvanized anchor bolts are available as an option and are worth specifying on coastal and wet sites.
- Replacing poles on existing foundations? Custom base plates can be made to match an existing anchor bolt pattern and size. Send the bolt circle and bolt diameter with your request.
