Direct Burial Round Straight Steel Light Poles

Direct burial poles skip the concrete foundation entirely. An extended length of the pole is embedded in the ground, which takes the anchor bolt layout, base plate and foundation pour out of the project. That makes direct burial the fast, economical choice for pathway, perimeter and smaller area lighting where soil conditions allow it. This group runs 20 to 24 foot mounting heights in 4 and 5 inch shafts, 11 gauge and 7 gauge.

With no foundation, the soil does the work a footing would. The embedded length, backfill and compaction have to resist the full wind load on the fixtures, so loose fill, soft clay and high water tables push a site toward anchor base. Embedment depth depends on pole length, fixture EPA and soil, so confirm it with your project engineer before ordering.
