An accent light that slowly spins on its stake undoes all the aiming done on the night walk. The CLS A10 is a brass locknut sized for standard 1/2 inch threaded landscape lighting parts, used to lock a fixture against its stake, riser or mount once the beam is where it belongs.
Where does a locknut go in a fixture assembly?
It threads onto the 1/2 inch connection between the fixture and whatever it sits on, such as a stake, riser, tree mount or gutter mount. Snug it against the mating part to keep the fixture from turning when bumped by crews or pets.
Why brass for such a small part?
A locknut lives in wet soil and mulch right at the base of the fixture. Brass holds up to that weather and matches the antique bronze finish used on brass fixtures and mounts, so the joint does not stand out.
Is it the right thread for my parts?
The A10 is a standard 1/2 inch NPT size, 1.1 inches across and 0.2 inches tall. It suits fixtures and accessories built on the common 1/2 inch landscape lighting thread.
