A well light set next to a walkway, patio or entry needs to light the tree or facade without blinding the people walking past it. The CLS IGL19B is a shielded in-ground well light with a solid cast brass surface ring, a raised eyelid cowl and an MR16 socket that tilts inside the housing.
How does the eyelid cowl help near a patio?
The cowl blocks the lamp from side view, so guests see the lit trunk or wall rather than a bright point at their feet. That makes it the better choice than an open faced well light anywhere people sit or walk close by.
Can I aim the beam once it is buried?
Yes. CLS builds in an adjustable socket, so the beam can be tilted toward the target without digging up or rotating the housing. That helps when the fixture has to sit off center from a tree or close to a wall.
Which MR16 lamp should I use?
The ceramic GU5.3 socket takes an MR16 LED (max 8W) or halogen (max 50W). Pick a narrow beam for a tall trunk and a wider one for a broad facade. The fixture is rated IP65, sits in a non-metallic burial sleeve and comes with a 72 inch lead in Antique Bronze.
