Broad targets such as a building face, a monument sign or a wide oak canopy need more output than an MR16 spotlight can supply. The CLS FL34B is a die-cast brass flood light built around a PAR36 lamp, with an adjustable head and a clear tempered glass lens. CLS describes it as the lensed version of the FL32B.
How is the FL34B different from the FL32B?
It is the same fixture with a lens added. The tempered glass front protects the lamp from debris and spray, which makes sense along public walks, parking areas and anywhere the fixture is exposed.
Which PAR36 lamps can it take?
The socket is a standard PAR36. CLS rates it for an LED PAR36 up to 17 watts or a halogen up to 100 watts. A color or smart PAR36 lamp turns the same housing into a seasonal or event fixture.
How does it sit in a planting bed?
The fixture stands 6.25 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide, low enough to tuck behind shrubs while the pivoting head aims the beam up the wall. It is sealed to IP65 and comes with a 72 inch 18 gauge lead for flexible placement.
