On a job with many spotlights, the right beam and color often only become clear after dark, once the fixtures are aimed. The CLS CLL16CT5 is a 5 watt MR16 LED in a die-cast aluminum body that comes with multiple lenses and a push-button selector for five color temperatures.
How do the interchangeable lenses work?
The lenses swap by hand with no tools, moving between 30, 45 and 60 degree spreads. Fit the narrow lens to reach up a trunk, then switch to a wider one for a low shrub, all with the same lamp.
Which color temperatures can I select?
The button cycles through 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, 5000K and 6000K. That range runs from warm light for wood and brick to cool light for modern materials and foliage. CLS lists CRI of 84 or higher at 2700K and up to 89 at 4000K and 5000K.
How much does it draw on the transformer?
CLS lists the 5 watt lamp at 7.2 VA and 325 lumens, against a 35 watt halogen. Use the VA figure when you total a circuit. It runs on 9 to 17 volts, dims on most magnetic transformers or by DC voltage, and is IP54 rated for use inside a fixture.
