CLS LL162 Waterproof MR16 LED Bulb 2W

Path-side perennials, a clump of ornamental grass, the face of a short retaining wall: these want more than a glow but far less than a tree light. The CLS LL162 is a 2 watt MR16 that produces 180 lumens, and CLS pairs it with a 10 watt halogen. It comes in 15, 30, 45, 60 or 100 degree beams, the same options as the 1 watt lamp.

Which beam suits a 2 watt MR16?

Use 15 or 30 degrees to put the light on one feature, such as a single grass or a small sculpture. Use 45 or 60 degrees for a cluster of plants, and 100 degrees to wash a low wall or bed evenly. The beam and the color temperature, 2700K or 3000K, are both chosen when you place the order.

LL162 or a neighbor in the LL16 lineup?

The LL162 sits between the 1 watt LL161 at 90 lumens, meant for very close accents, and the 4 watt LL164 at 360 lumens. If the planting is roughly waist to shoulder high and the fixture is a few feet away, 2 watts is usually the right amount. For small trees, columns or a facade, look at the 5 and 7 watt lamps or the separate 6 watt LL166.

Will it dim with the rest of the system?

CLS lists the LL16 series as dimmable with most magnetic (MLV) transformers and with DC voltage dimming, on a 9 to 17 volt AC input.
