CLS LL167 Waterproof MR16 LED Bulb 7W

Taller trees, wide canopies and two story wall planes need light that can travel, and the CLS LL167 is the top output in the LL16 MR16 series. It runs on 7 watts and puts out 600 lumens, which CLS compares to a 60 watt halogen lamp.

Narrow or wide beam for a tall tree?

A 15 or 30 degree beam keeps the light on the trunk and carries it up into the crown. A 45 or 60 degree beam suits a broad, spreading canopy, and 100 degrees is the choice for washing a wall. You pick the beam, and 2700K or 3000K, at the time of order.

Is the LL167 more lamp than you need?

If the target is a small tree or an entry column, it may be. The 5 watt LL165 gives 450 lumens and the 4 watt LL164 gives 360, and either keeps a softer look on mid-size features. There is also a 6 watt LL166 sold separately. Save the 7 watt for spots where a smaller lamp leaves the upper half of the feature in the dark.

How does it handle the extra heat?

The die-cast aluminum housing acts as the heat sink, and the lamp is thermo protected, water resistant and rated IP65. CLS lists 50,000 hours at L70, an input of 9 to 17 volts AC, and dimming with most MLV transformers or DC voltage dimming.
