Swapping out a 60 watt halogen PAR36 in a tree uplight or a facade wash is the job the CLS LL3610 is built around. It draws 10 watts and delivers 800 lumens, enough to carry light into the crown of a good-sized tree or across the front of a single story home.
38 or 60 degrees for this lamp?
The 38 degree beam concentrates the 800 lumens for height, which suits a tall, narrow tree or a column. The 60 degree beam trades reach for spread and works better on a wide canopy or a wall. Select the beam, along with 2700K or 3000K, when you order.
Where does the LL3610 sit in the PAR36 range?
It is the middle step. The 6 watt LL366 gives 590 lumens for shrubs and small trees, while the 13 watt LL3613 at 1130 lumens and the 17 watt LL3617 at 1300 lumens handle large specimen trees. Note that the 6 and 10 watt lamps are rated at 12 to 24 volts AC, while the 13 and 17 watt lamps are rated at 9 to 17 volts AC.
Will it hold up in a well light?
The die-cast aluminum housing is waterproof and IP67 rated, and the lamp is thermo protective. CLS lists a 50,000 hour L70 life and dimming with most MLV transformers or by DC voltage.
