CLS LL4B4 Brass Base G4 Bi-Pin LED Bulb 4W

When a G4 fixture is washing a wall, grazing a stone column or lighting a wide shrub mass, a low output lamp leaves the surface looking dim. The CLS LL4B4 is the 4 watt member of the brass G4 family, rated at 400 lumens and listed by CLS as the replacement for a 50 watt halogen. Choose 2700K or 3000K when you order.

Do I need the 4 watt, or will the LL4B2 or LL4B3 do?

The LL4B2 and LL4B3 are the 2 watt and 3 watt versions of this same brass G4 lamp. Step down to one of them for small path fixtures or soft fill where glare matters more than reach. Pick the LL4B4 when the fixture sits farther from its target or the surface is large and textured.

Why a brass body on a G4 lamp?

Small bi-pin lamps live inside fixtures that collect condensation and sit in irrigated beds. CLS builds this one with a solid brass housing, a clear polycarbonate cover and resin potted internals, and the price guide calls it water resistant. It runs across a 9 to 17 volt range, so lamps near the end of a long run still have room to work.

How does it affect transformer sizing?

Count each LL4B4 as 4 watts when you total the run, then leave headroom on the transformer.
