Path lights that look dim and patchy are often running a lamp that is too weak for the fixture height. The CLS LL4C3 is a 3 watt G4 bi-pin LED rated at 270 lumens and offered in 2700K or 3000K (chosen when ordering), a solid step up for path fixtures, step lights and small accent housings that use G4 sockets.
Is 3 watts the right step up from a 2 watt G4?
For taller path lights, wider walkways and fixtures that throw light across a larger area of groundcover, yes. CLS compares the LL4C3 with a 50 watt halogen G4. For low step lights or tight spacing, a 2 watt lamp may be all you need.
Why does the ceramic base matter?
Ceramic stays stable and insulates well in hot, damp enclosures. The LL4C3 pairs that base with a clear polycarbonate cover and sealed internals, rated IP54, and spreads its light 360 degrees for even glow through the fixture lens.
What does it add to the transformer?
About 2.2 VA per lamp. It runs on 9 to 17 volts AC and dims with most magnetic transformers, so it can go on existing low voltage systems.
