Where lighting ideas turn into real lighting solutions

Vertical Pole Mounts

Side-of-pole brackets with an upright 2-3/8 inch tenon for adding a slipfitter or knuckle fixture to light poles or wood poles.

A vertical pole mount attaches to the side of a pole and gives you an upright 2-3/8 inch OD tenon at whatever height you choose. It is the simple way to add a second fixture below the main heads, or to put light on a pole that never carried one. LED Spot stocks two versions: the LS-PMV for standard light poles and the LS-WPB for wood poles. Both take standard slipfitters and adjustable knuckle arms, and both come in bronze, black, green or white powder coat. The wood pole version is a common pick for horse arenas and parking areas. Plan the added fixture in a photometric design so it fills gaps instead of adding glare.

Which Vertical Pole Mount Fits Your Pole?

Start with what the pole is made of, then match the fixture.

  • Wood or not. Wood poles take the LS-WPB. Every other light pole takes the LS-PMV.
  • Fixture bracket. Both tenons are 2-3/8 inch OD, so a slipfitter goes on directly and an adjustable knuckle arm fits as listed. Yoke fixtures need a yoke tenon mount on top.
  • Mounting height. The mount can go anywhere on the pole. Leave room so the new fixture does not shade or glare into the main heads.
  • Wire path. Plan how power reaches the new head before you pick the height, since a hand hole or conduit run often decides it.

If your fixture needs a tenon that points out sideways, look at the horizontal pole mount.

Yes, it can be placed at any point on the pole. Pick a height that leaves clearance from the main fixtures and that you can wire to without trouble, and count the extra fixture in the pole’s wind load.

Both the LS-PMV and LS-WPB come in bronze, black, green or white powder coat. Most buyers match the pole so the bracket blends in.

Total the EPA of everything already on the pole, add the new fixture and its mount, and compare that with the pole’s rated EPA at your site wind speed. If the total stays at or below the rating, the pole has room. Our pole selection guide shows the full order of checks, and why EPA wind ratings matter explains what the rating means.
