Yoke-mounted fixtures, the floods and sports lights with a U-shaped bracket, are built to bolt to a surface, so they need an adapter before they can sit on a pole. The yoke fixture tenon mount (LS-P4024D) fits a standard 2-3/8 inch tenon and gives the yoke a solid mounting point. Use it on a pole top tenon, a tenon adaptor, a bull horn or a wall-mounted tenon. It is offered in bronze, black, US green and white. Yoke fixtures tend to be the larger, heavier heads, so check fixture weight and EPA against the pole before you add one. For several yoke floods on one pole, put one mount on each tenon of the round curved bull horns.

How Do You Mount a Yoke Fixture on a Light Pole?
Three parts make the stack: the pole top tenon, this mount, and the fixture.
- Confirm it is a yoke. A yoke is the U-shaped bracket the fixture pivots in. A threaded swivel needs a knuckle tenon mount instead.
- Check the tenon size. The mount fits a 2-3/8 inch tenon. Poles drilled for arms need a tenon adaptor first.
- Leave tilt clearance. Yoke floods tilt up and down. Make sure the housing clears the pole and any neighboring heads at full aim.
- Size the pole for the load. Large floods carry more EPA than area lights, and the total adds up fast on multi-head poles. Use the flood’s spec sheet EPA and follow the steps in our pole selection guide.

Yoke Tenon Mounts Questions
It is a light, usually a flood or sports fixture, that hangs in a U-shaped bracket so it can tilt. The yoke is designed to bolt to a surface, which is why it needs a tenon mount to go on a pole.
It fits standard 2-3/8 inch tenons. That matches our tenon adaptors, bull horn tenons and pole mount tenons.
Yes. It works on wall mounts that end in a 2-3/8 inch tenon, as well as on poles. That gives you a way to put a yoke flood on a building without a separate wall bracket.
Yes. Use a two, three or four-fixture bull horn and add one yoke tenon mount per tenon. Check the combined weight and EPA against the pole rating first.
EPA, the effective projected area, adds up every face of the fixture that catches wind, and big flood housings present a lot of it. The maker combines that area with a drag coefficient for the housing shape to rate the fixture. The pole is rated for a maximum EPA at a given wind speed, so a heavy yoke flood can use up most of that allowance by itself. Read the importance of EPA wind ratings for more.
