A 1000 ft C7 string reel puts a full season of socket wire on one spool, so you can cut runs to fit each roofline, fence or tree instead of chaining dozens of short strings. Hotels, shopping centers, campuses and office parks use bulk reels when the same C7 look has to repeat across several buildings. LED Spot stocks two C7 reels, both 1000 ft of 18 gauge SPT1 green wire on a plastic wheel: 2000 sockets at 6 inch spacing or 1000 sockets at 12 inch spacing. Bulbs are sold separately. Measure every run and label each section before cutting, then order C7 LED bulbs by total socket count.

6 inch or 12 inch spacing: which C7 reel do you need?
Spacing decides how dense the line of light looks and how many bulb packs you will buy.
- 2000 sockets at 6 inch spacing. A tight, nearly continuous line of light for trees, wrapped columns and close viewing. Filling the whole reel takes 80 packs of 25 bulbs.
- 1000 sockets at 12 inch spacing. The classic outline spacing for eaves, parapets and fence tops. Filling the whole reel takes 40 packs of 25.
- Cutting and powering. Cut the reel into sections and fit each one with snap-on male and female plugs, sold separately, so every run ends right at its outlet.
- Green wire. The green SPT1 jacket blends into trees, garland and dark trim, so the wire stays out of sight in daylight.
For shorter jobs, C7 light strings in 25, 50 and 100 ft lengths are ready to use as is.
C7 Reel 1000 ft Questions
One bulb per socket: 2000 for the 6 inch reel and 1000 for the 12 inch reel. LED C7 bulbs come in packs of 25, so that works out to 80 packs or 40 packs. Add a couple of spare packs to cover breakage and later replacements.
Yes. Bulk reels are meant to be cut to length on site. Each cut section needs its own snap-on male and female plugs, sold separately, to connect to power.
No. The reel is socket wire only, which leaves you free to choose LED C7 bulbs in warm white, pure white, solid colors or assorted packs. Finishes include smooth transparent, smooth ceramic and faceted.
A reel makes sense for long or irregular runs, several buildings that need to match, or a large tree to wrap. Cutting to exact lengths avoids loose loops at the end of each run. For a few windows or a short railing, prebuilt strings are quicker.
