Short wall caps, single steps and outdoor counter overhangs often leave only a few inches to hide a fixture. The CLS HL01A is a 3 inch long, 0.75 inch tall hardscape light in die-cast aluminum with a stainless steel mounting bracket, sized for exactly those tight spots.
How much light does a 0.5W hardscape light give?
CLS lists 45 lumens at 2700K. That is a gentle accent meant to mark an edge or graze stone texture, not to light a whole patio. Run several in a row under a cap for a continuous glow, or place one on each tread.
Where does a 3 inch fixture make more sense than a 7 or 12 inch one?
Under narrow caps, on short stair returns and anywhere a longer bar would overhang the edge or crowd a joint. The thin mounting plate is designed to fit without disturbing the masonry, and the fixture comes pre-wired with stainless steel hardware.
Will it strain my transformer?
Hardly. It runs on 12V AC or DC and adds very little load, so it is easy to add to an existing system. The powder coated finish is there for UV and weather resistance.
