Large properties and commercial grounds with several long home runs go through cable fast, and splicing partial spools adds failure points. The CLS LLC10500 is a 500 foot roll of 10/2 direct burial landscape cable with solid copper conductors and a sunlight resistant PVC jacket.
When should I buy the 500 foot roll?
When the project has multiple home runs or one very long run. One continuous roll lets you cut each run to length with fewer joints. For a single short run, the 100 foot roll of the same cable is easier to handle.
Does 10/2 need conduit underground?
CLS rates this cable for direct burial without conduit. The jacket is sunlight resistant PVC, so sections exposed where the cable rises to a fixture or transformer hold up as well.
How do I know 10 gauge is the right size?
Check each run’s length and wattage. Heavier 10 gauge wire carries more load farther before voltage drop becomes a problem. If a run still comes in low, split it or move it to a higher transformer tap.
