LED C7 bulbs are the smaller of the two classic holiday bulb sizes, with an E12 candelabra base that fits C7 strings and reels. Businesses use them on window frames, porch rails, wreaths, entry trees and anywhere guests see the lights from a few feet away. LED Spot stocks dimmable C7 LED bulbs in packs of 25, in pure white (6500K), warm white (3000K), red, green, blue, orange, yellow, pink, purple and assorted packs, with smooth transparent, smooth ceramic and faceted finishes. Which LED C7 bulb finish and color should you choose?
Finish changes the look as much as color does, so settle both before you order.
- Smooth transparent. A clear colored shell that shows the light source inside, for a crisp, bright point of light.
- Smooth ceramic. An opaque shell that spreads light evenly for a soft, retro look. Purple is not offered in ceramic, and ceramic assorted packs use warm white in place of yellow.
- Faceted. Cut surfaces catch and scatter light, which adds sparkle to trees and wreaths.
- Warm white or pure white. Warm white at 3000K gives the cozy tone people expect from holiday lights and pairs well with greenery and brick. Pure white at 6500K looks cool and crisp against glass and metal.
Assorted packs hold 5 each of blue, green, orange, red and yellow. Running more than a few hundred feet? Fill a 1000 ft C7 reel instead of chaining strings.
LED C7 Bulbs Questions
Yes. LED C7 bulbs use the standard E12 candelabra base, so they fit C7 sockets, including older strings that held incandescent bulbs. They will not fit C9 strings, which use the larger E17 base.
The LED C7 bulbs in this group are listed as dimmable. You can also run them on timers or occupancy controls so the display is lit only when you want it.
Each assorted pack has 25 bulbs: 5 blue, 5 green, 5 orange, 5 red and 5 yellow. In the smooth ceramic finish, warm white replaces yellow.
Count the sockets on every string and reel, then divide by 25. A 1000 ft C7 reel at 12 inch spacing needs 40 packs, and the 6 inch reel needs 80. Add a pack or two for spares.
