Tree trunks, stone walls, columns and garden sculpture all read better at night when light comes from below. The CLS AL15B is a compact brass up light that takes an MR16 lamp, measures 7.75 inches tall by 2.13 inches wide, and carries an Antique Bronze finish.
How does the MR16 socket help with beam choice?
Because the AL15B uses a standard GU5.3 MR16 socket with retaining clips, the beam and color come from the lamp you choose. A narrow MR16 can climb a tall trunk, while a wider one will wash a short wall or a shrub mass. The socket is rated for an MR16 LED up to 8 watts or a halogen up to 50 watts.
Will it hold its aim after adjustment?
CLS describes an adjustable aim with a mechanical joint that keeps alignment after repeated changes. That matters on trees, where you may re-aim each season as the canopy grows.
Why brass for a ground level up light?
Up lights sit in mulch, wet soil and irrigation spray. Brass resists corrosion in those conditions, and the IP65 rated housing is fronted by clear tempered glass. A 72 inch 18 gauge SPT-1W lead gives room to reach the main run.
