Mature specimen trees, tall facades and big architectural features need more light than an MR16 well light can provide. The CLS IGL07B is a flat top in-ground well light with a solid cast brass surface ring over a PVC housing, built around a standard PAR36 socket.
When should I choose a PAR36 well light over an MR16 one?
Go to PAR36 when the target is tall or wide enough that a smaller lamp leaves the top in the dark. The socket takes a PAR36 LED up to 17 watts or a halogen up to 100 watts, which is a large step up in output from an MR16 fixture.
Will a 5.75 inch flat top sit level with pavers?
The flat brass top keeps a low profile, and CLS specifies a heat resistant tempered lens rated for foot traffic, so the fixture can live in a walkway or patio as well as a lawn. Set it level with the surrounding grade.
Can I cut glare on a busy courtyard?
CLS lists clear or frosted tempered glass and a hex louver option. The louver helps when people walk directly over or past the fixture. It is rated IP65 and comes with a 72 inch lead in Antique Bronze.
